At Van Pool, we value each employee and we are committed to providing the best possible benefits.  We carefully review the employee benefits program each year to consider the benefits available in the market. 


If you are receiving this, it is because you are either a full-time employee eligible for benefits or a part-time employee who has recently become eligible for medical due to meeting the minimum 1,560 hours, worked from May 1, 2018 through April 30, 2019 for our upcoming open enrollment.


Van Pool is pleased to let you know that we will remain with Blue Cross Blue Shield of MA (BCBSMA) for our renewal plan year July 1st, 2019 – June 30th, 2020.  We will continue to offer two medical plans with plan design changes and new enhancements. 


We are also very excited to announce that we’ve added a Blue Cross Blue Shield Dental and Vision plan (PT employees eligible for medical insurance due to meeting the hours requirement, unfortunately, are not eligible for dental or vision benefits).   


Since there are many plan design changes, as well as, the addition of a dental and vision plan, we recommend that all eligible employees attend an Open Enrollment Session where Blue Cross Blue Shield will be present to review all the details of each plans and answer any questions you may have.  We’ve also invited in Alpha Pension Group to review the 401(K) Retirement Plan (overview of our new vendor, services provided, benefit of the plan, eligibility, etc.).


Important Note:  This is not a passive enrollment.  Meaning, everyone must fill out a new enrollment form for any benefits they are interested in – there is no automatic re-enrollment, due to the plan changes, which is why we suggest everyone attend an Open Enrollment Session. 


Supervisors/Managers – please note that there will be separate 401(k) meetings for the rest of the population not eligible for benefits, throughout the months of July and August.  These open enrollment meetings below are for benefits eligible employees only due to space limitations.

If you are not electing health insurance, you MUST complete the “Van Pool 2019 Waiver Form” and email it to Vinny Reina’s attention:  Vinny Reina, Director of Human Resources,


All employees who are eligible for health insurance MUST complete the “Receipt of Open Enrollment Information 2019” and send it along with either your enrollment form or your waiver form.
